About PNB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026
Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India’s largest Public Sector Banks, has invited online applications for 545 Local Bank Officer (LBO) posts in JMGS-I scale across 17 states. This is a state-specific recruitment — candidates apply for one state only and, once selected, will be posted within that state for 9 years or until promotion to SMG Scale-IV, whichever is earlier.
The LBO concept focuses on officers who can serve local communities with proficiency in the local language. Graduate candidates with a minimum of 1 year banking experience (clerical or officer cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or RRB) are eligible. - Graduate in any discipline from a University/Institution recognised by Government of India
- Result must be declared on or before 09 August 2026
Experience (Mandatory)
- Minimum 1 year post-graduation work experience in Clerical or Officer Cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or RRB
- Experience in NBFCs, cooperative banks or other institutions is NOT eligible

Final merit = Written Test + Interview (state-wise, category-wise). LLPT is qualifying — failure = disqualified regardless of other scores. Candidates who studied local language in 10th/12th are exempt from LLPT.
