Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- General posts: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University
- Food Safety Officer: Degree in Science (Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Food Technology/Agriculture)
- Assistant Controller Legal Measurement: Degree in Science/Engineering/Technology
- Candidates appearing in the final year of graduation are NOT eligible — degree must be in hand by last date

Reservation Benefits: Age relaxation and reservation (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Ex-SM/PH/Freedom Fighters’ dependents) are available only to permanent residents (domicile) of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates from other states get no reservation or age relaxation.
Physical Standards (for select posts)
The following posts have mandatory physical measurement requirements. Candidates who don’t meet these standards are disqualified at the physical verification stage:
- DSP, District Commandant Home Guards: Height, chest, vision standards apply
- Superintendent of Jail, Deputy Jailor: Physical fitness criteria
- Excise Inspector, District Youth Welfare Officer: Height requirements
- DSP Vision: 6/6 mandatory | SC/ST/Hill candidates: relaxed height norms
Salary & Pay Scale

Selection Process
Key Change 2026: Optional subject has been permanently removed from the Mains examination. All candidates must now appear for 8 compulsory papers only. CM Fellowship Programme scholars get bonus marks in Mains (up to 7.5 marks on papers above 1000 marks).

How to Apply Online
- Get OTR Number: Visit otr.pariksha.nic.in → Register → Get One Time Registration Number. Do this at least 72 hours before applying
- Visit uppsc.up.nic.in → Click “Apply for Post”
- Click on Advertisement A-1/E-1/2026 (Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services PCS 2026)
- Authenticate using your OTR Number and OTP/Password. Personal details auto-populate from OTR
- Fill Part-2 of application form: address, correspondence, preferential qualifications (Yes/No)
- Pay application fee via SBI MOPS (Net Banking / Debit / Credit Card / Other)
- Download and print Payment Transaction Slip
- After fee payment, final application form appears → print and keep safely
- If modifications needed: use Candidate Dashboard Login before 3 August 2026
