1. Mining Sirdar (T&S Gr. C) – Qualification
Option A:
- Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board
- Valid Mining Sirdarship Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS under Coal Mines Regulation 2017 (or any DGMS certificate entitling the holder to work as Mining Sirdar)
- Valid Gas Testing Certificate
- Valid First Aid Certificate

- Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board
- Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognised institute
- Valid Overman Competency Certificate issued by DGMS under Coal Mines Regulation 2017

2. Surveyor Mining (T&S Gr. B) – Qualification
Option A:
- Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board
- Valid Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency (SCC) granted under Coal Mines Regulation 2017 (or any DGMS certificate entitling the holder to work as Surveyor in Mines)
Option B:
- Degree or Diploma in Mining / Mine Surveying Engineering from a recognised institute

- Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 marks, 90 minutes, one sitting. Separate CBT for each post.
- Section A: Technical Knowledge (70 MCQs × 1 mark)
- Section B: General Knowledge, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude (30 MCQs × 1 mark)
- No negative marking
- Minimum Cut-off: 50 marks for UR/EWS; 40 marks for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/ESM
- Document Scrutiny/Verification: Only candidates scoring above cut-off are called, in merit order, up to extent positions remain unfilled
- Tie-breaking order: Higher Section A score → Older date of birth → Alphabetical order of name (as per Matriculation certificate)
