Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna company and a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, operates 10 highly mechanised opencast mines in the Singrauli coalfields of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. NCL is one of India’s largest coal producers, supplying coal to major thermal power plants including NTPC Vindhyachal.
